| Alanna Lundstedt Artist Statement 2009 With this work I have attempted to capture the inner self and the desire of a dream. Focusing primarily on capturing the dreams of the model, which in turn I hope will force the viewer into a sense of calm and self assessment of their dreams. At the beginning of the project I was doubtful of achieving my end goal. As the year has progressed ideas have changed and the motivation to make this project a success has increased. While working on this project I too have had the chance to reflect on my dreams and desires. The want for some calm in such a chaotic life where 24 hours to the day never seem to be enough. This is my aim for the viewer, a chance to sit back and reflect on the stillness of the image, the desire in the eyes of the model and her want to escape the life she is in and get back to nature. Nature being the simplicity of being yourself and no longer having to conform to a mould that has been boxed around you. The chance to escape the societal cage that everyone of us is placed in, be it upper class, lower class, educated, uneducated, loved or loathed. With these images I have looked at the desire in the eyes, the longing of wanting to be somewhere else, as the series progresses the desire changes and becomes mild happiness and then joy as the dream develops and becomes just what is wanted. |

Have had a look and I can appreciate things are limited with the daportfolio sites so I am not going to be too critical of that. Also I hope that this is received constructively and not negatively
First of all with this paragraph
- "Since then I have worked at Kwik Kopy Printing North Sydney for a year as their junior designer, and done freelance work." -
I would re-write it
Since then I have worked at Kwik Kopy Printing North Sydney for a year as their junior designer. I have also completed a variety of freelance work.
I would also take out the section about doing further study as it gives the impression that you are not confident in the standard of work you already produce.
Whilst it is great for the client to get to know u before a job I would suggest a more professional image of yourself or maybe not even have a photo of you as it doesn't really pertain to the work you are offering.
Also (and I do appologise for going on) I would look at an e-mail address that is for work only, so that it sounds a little more professional. i.e. my e-mail addy for here and for my portfolio site is - aml_photographics@live.com.au
Hope that helps some
